A Chinese professor shocked his students by stripping naked during an art class.
Prof Mo Xiaoxin, 56, was trying to emphasise the “power” of the body and to “challenge taboos”, according to a Chinese newspaper.
Mo, 56, arranged for four other models, including a man and woman in their seventies or eighties, and a younger couple, to strip naked in front of the class while he lectured.
During the class, he also invited students to take off their clothes.
“Professor Mo appeared emotionally excited at the time,” the paper quoted a student as saying.

PETA Upset At Six Flags Roach Contest
GURNEE, Ill. - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants Six Flags Great America to scrap its Halloween-themed cockroach-eating promotion.
A spokeswoman for the animal rights organization says the contest at the amusement park’s FrightFest is “gratuitously cruel.”
The park in Gurnee, Ill., is joining other Six Flags parks in offering unlimited line-jumping privileges to anyone who eats a live Madagascar hissing cockroach. The bugs are up to three inches long.
The contest begins next month.
Amusement park officials are defending their menu choice. Great America spokesman Jim Taylor says the bugs are nutritious, high in protein and fat free.

Polish Woman Just Potty About Her Cow
Warsaw - A Polish woman who grew marijuana to calm the nerves of her cow has been charged with cultivating a narcotic by police in the western town of Lobez.
The cow had been “skittish and unruly” - once breaking a person’s arm - until someone suggested mixing cannabis in with its feed, the woman told police.
“The cow became as calm as a lamb,” the 55-year-old woman said, according to the PAP news agency.
The woman’s plants, grown from seeds she bought at a market, reached nearly three metres (yards) tall and were extremely potent, police said.
Marijuana possession is a crime throughout Poland. The woman faces up to three years in jail if convicted.

BEIJING - A drunken Chinese migrant worker jumped into a panda enclosure at the Beijing Zoo, was bitten by the bear and retaliated by chomping down on the animal’s back, state media said Wednesday.
Zhang Xinyan, from the central province of Henan, drank four jugs of beer at a restaurant near the zoo before visiting Gu Gu the panda on Tuesday, the Beijing Morning Post said.
“He felt a sudden urge to touch the panda with his hand,” and jumped into the enclosure, the newspaper said.

First Penis Transplant Reversed After Two Weeks
LONDON - Surgeons in China who said they performed the first successful penis transplant had to remove the donated organ because of the severe psychological problems it caused to the recipient and his wife.
Dr Weilie Hu and surgeons at Guangzhou General Hospital in China performed the complex 15-hour surgery on a 44-year old man whose penis had been damaged in a traumatic accident.
The microsurgery to attach the penis, which had been donated by the parents of a 22-year-old brain-dead man, was successful but Hu and his team removed it two weeks later.
“Because of a severe psychological problem of the recipient and his wife, the transplanted penis regretfully had to be cut off,” Hu said in a report published online by the peer reviewed journal European Urology, without elaborating.

MIAMI - A Florida diver shot a large grouper with a spear gun then apparently drowned when the fish sped into a hole, entangling the man in the line attached to the spear, investigators said Monday.
The 42-year-old man, whose name was withheld, was free-diving in about 25 feet of water off the lower Florida Keys Saturday and speared a Goliath Grouper, Monroe County Sheriff’s Detective Mark Coleman said.

Blind Man Sentenced For Dangerous Driving
LONDON - A blind man who was convicted of dangerous driving after he admitted being behind the wheel of a car that touched 35 mph was given a three-month suspended sentence on Monday.
Omed Aziz was also banned from driving for three years at Warley magistrates’ court in Oldbury, West Midlands.
Aziz, 31, who lost his eyes after an explosion in his homeland of Iraq, had been driving by following instructions on where to steer and when to brake from a passenger who himself had been banned from driving.

Chicken Dies, Wife Shoots Husband
A woman shot her husband in the back after he killed her pet chicken, the Lane County sheriff’s deputies said. Deputies said they were sure that Mary Gray, 58, intended to shoot her husband, Stephen Gray, 43. They weren’t certain if the husband meant to fire at the chicken.
“We don’t know if it was an accident or if it was on purpose,” Sgt. Clint Riley said. “It depends who you ask.”
Riley said the couple had been drinking for much of Monday while they did yard work at their rented home in the town northwest of Eugene, and they began arguing after Stephen Gray shot the chicken with a .44-caliber handgun.
Deputies said he was then hit with a shot from a .22-caliber rifle, and is recovering. Mary Gray was arraigned Tuesday on an assault charge.

Teenage Girl Buries Aunt Alive For Selling Dog To Barbecue Shop
A 15-year old girl and her younger friends have badly beaten and buried alive her aunt for selling her dog to a barbecue shop. The girl said that the dog had come to her in a dream and asked her to punish the woman who had caused its death.
The Kurier newspaper from the North Russian region of Pskov said that the girl, Nastya Horina, called the police herself and confessed to killing her 36-year-old aunt. The girl said that her dog, which went missing about a year ago, had come to her in a dream and said that it was killed. The dog also said that the girl would soon find the killer and asked her to avenge its death.
The next day after the dream, the girl met her aunt who said it was her who sold the dog for a bottle of vodka to a barbecue shop. Nastya together with her friends who were even younger then her took the woman to a gravel pit, beat her badly and then buried the woman while she was still alive.
Prosecutors say that the girl can be sentenced to 5 to 7 years in a penal colony for her crime.

Priests Asked To Shame Drunk Drivers
WARSAW (Reuters) - Prosecutors in overwhelmingly Catholic Poland have asked priests to read out the names of drink-drivers from the pulpit as part of efforts to reduce the country’s high road death rate.
Church leaders have not said yet whether they will support the scheme, aimed to shame drivers into sobriety.
“We post the names of convicted drunk drivers at town halls,” said Rafal Grabia, a prosecutor in the mountain town of Zywiec in southern Poland. “But who reads that? The information is not reaching family, friends and neighbors.”
More than 98,000 have died on Polish roads since 1991, making Poles 2.5 times more likely to die in road accidents than Swedes or U.K. citizens, European Union figures show.
Drunk driving cases rose 75 percent between 2001 and 2005 in ex-communist Poland to 80,000, according to the justice ministry.

LOS ANGELES - George Johnson, considered California’s oldest living person at 112 and the state’s last surviving World War I veteran, had experts shaking their heads over his junk food diet.
“He had terrible bad habits. He had a diet largely of sausages and waffles,” Dr. L. Stephen Coles, founder of the Gerontology Research Group at the University of California, Los Angeles, said Friday.

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - A Chinese court has rejected a woman’s claims for compensation for her sex life, which was ruined when her husband was injured in an accident, the Shanghai Daily reported Thursday.
Wei Suying, 31, whose husband has suffered from erectile dysfunction since a 2003 workplace accident, filed suit in a Shanghai court asking for 220,000 yuan ($27,650) in compensation from the shopping center where the accident occurred, it said.
The compensation included claims for mental anguish and for her purchases of products such as vibrators.

GENEVA - A 34-year-old saleswoman was caught driving down a Swiss motorway while she was using her laptop computer and chatting on a handheld mobile phone, police in northeastern Switzerland said.
The driver said she was unaware of any wrongdoing and responded that she was “driving like I always do”, police in the canton of St Gallen said in a statement.
A police patrol pulled her over on Wednesday afternoon after they saw her car zig-zagging along the A3 motorway near the town of Murg.
