Woman Received Dad's Body In Post
A Romanian woman was sent the body of her dead father in the post after a cemetery was sold to developers.
Aurelia Cenusa, from Severin, says clergy in her father’s hometown of Darvari, 300 miles away, told her the graveyard his body had been buried in was to be sold and his body exhumed.
She said she thought the priest was joking when he told her to come and collect her father Rafaila Cojocaru’s remains - or receive them in the post.

200 Dogs Removed From Woman House
PROVO, S.D. - The Humane Society of the Black Hills removed 150-200 dogs from the rural residence of an elderly woman at Provo in southwest South Dakota.
Fall River County Sheriff Jeff Tarrell said he contacted the woman earlier this month after the Humane Society received a complaint and she agreed to give up the dogs.
Tarrell said she had taken in stray dogs for more than 30 years.
“It got to the point where people would actually drop the dogs off near the place or abandon them (near there),” he said. “People were essentially taking advantage. They knew she would take in stray dogs.”
Suz Phillips, director of operations for the Humane Society, said the dogs were overall in good health.

Car Crashes Into Car Crash
A newly opened restaurant called Car Crash has had to close down - after a car crashed into the building.
The car lost control in wet weather and smashed into the entrace of the restaurant in Santiago.
Owner Nancy Araya says she named the restaurant Car Crash because the area was an accident blackspot.
She told Las Ultimas Noticias: “It is unbelievable, it is black humour that a car crashes into Car Crash. The restaurant is now a joke.”
Nobody was hurt in the accident. The restaurant is expected to reopen within a week.

Hong Kong - Scientists say a bid to encourage giant pandas to breed by showing them “panda porn” has paid off.
They claim to have sparked a baby boom among the endangered animals by showing them DVDs of pandas mating.
“It works,” Zhang Zhihe, a leading Chinese expert, told the Xinhua news agency.
Pandas are notoriously poor breeders and the “panda porn” movies were just one of many techniques used to encourage them to breed.

ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) - Police in this Austin suburb were stumped for hours by the 49 emergency calls that kept coming in from an unregistered cell phone. The caller would say nothing before hanging up, sometimes after a brief giggle. Eventually, though, police found their man, er child: a 7-year-old calling from his elementary school classroom just for kicks.
“He was just doing it for fun because he had a cell phone,” said Eric Poteet, spokesman for the Round Rock police “The only number that would work was 911.”

Buddhist Monk Cuts Off Penis
BANGKOK - A Thai Buddhist monk cut off his penis with a machete because he had an erection during meditation and declined to have it reattached, saying he had renounced all earthly cares, a doctor and a newspaper said on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old monk, whose name was withheld for privacy reasons, allowed medical staff at Maharaj hospital, 780 km (480 miles) south of Bangkok to dress his wound, but refused reattachment, hospital chief Prawing Euanontouch said.
“We cleaned up the wound, gave him some stitches, but he declined to have it reattached because he said had abandoned everything,” Prawing told Reuters by telephone.
Prawing declined to comment on the monk’s erection, which Bangkok-based Kom Chad Luk tabloid reported on its Web site.

A Romanian teenager may need surgery after she swallowed her toothbrush.
The 15-year-old girl, named only as Adreea V from Falticeni, in Suceava county, went to A&E saying she had accidentally swallowed the tootbrush.
However, her friend told doctors she swallowed the toothbrush while imitating some ‘extreme’ moves she saw in adult movies.
The toothbrush showed up in an X-ray in the girl’s stomach.
Doctors say if the toothbrush does not come out “naturally” they will have to operate.

Baby Found Under House After Being Ejected From Vehicle
ST. PETERSBURG, FL - A baby was ejected from a car and hurled under a house in a hit-and-run crash on the city’s south side, police said.
The baby was taken to Bayfront Medical Center and police said the injuries appeared to be non life-threatening.
The crash occured at 12th Avenue and 48th Street South.
An SUV smashed into a car, spinning it out of control and ejecting the baby, police said. The baby was found some 15 feet under a nearby house.

RATCLIFF, Texas - A freak accident left a man hospitalized on Friday after he was apparently stabbed by antlers. Authorities say Paul Nash, 45, and girlfriend Gayla File were driving on Highway Seven from Ratcliff when they hit a deer.
File called 911 as Nash got out of their pickup to check the vehicle’s damaged headlight and clear debris from the roadway.
Officials believe another vehicle came along and hit the dead animal or part of the mangled remains. The antlers apparently flew up and stabbed Nash in the side.

SOMERSET, Pa. - A man accused of biting off a piece of a man’s lip several months ago is now accused of attacking and biting the same man on the head, police said.
Jason Todd Martin, 28, of Friedens, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Arthur Cook on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.
Police alleged that Martin and two other men beat the victim on Monday night after the victim asked them to leave his home, and Martin bit the man on the forehead.
