Australian Sells Own Life On Internet
SYDNEY - A 24-year-old Australian surfer who sold his life, including baggage from a painful break-up, on eBay says he is still not quite sure why he did it.
Nicael Holt sold his name, phone number and all his possessions, including clothes, CDs, a surfboard, a laptop, a wonky pushbike, childhood photos and a “nice lamp” given to him by an ex-girlfriend, on the internet auction site.
The successful applicant bid 7,500 dollars (5,790 US) last week to become Holt, right down to spending Christmas with his parents and inheriting “some tension with a former ex from a painful break-up.”
The identity of the eBay auction winner is known only as ridderstrade.

Dog Reunites With Family After Six Years
Cujo was a frisky 7-year-old when he sneaked out of his owners’ south St. Louis yard in July 2000. Now, thinner and grayer and with a tale that would be fascinating if only he could tell it, the golden retriever is back with the Barczewski family.
“It’s a miracle,” Noreen Barczewski, 41, said at Friday’s reunion. “We found him!”
Six years and a side trip to Columbia can do a lot to a dog, but it was unmistakably Cujo. There was the heart-shaped patch of white on his forehead, the white fur on his toes, his manner of greeting people by rubbing against them cat-style.

A duck in Florida has survived gunshot wounds and a two-day stint in a refrigerator.
A hunter shot the duck, wounding it in the wing and leg. Believing the bird was dead, he left it in his fridge at his home in Tallahassee.
The hunter’s wife got a fright when she opened the fridge and the duck lifted its head, a local veterinarian said.

Man Survives Fall From 17th Floor
MINNEAPOLIS - A man crashed through a double-paned window in a hotel on Saturday and plummeted 16 floors - but survived when he was caught by a roof overhang.
Joshua S. Hanson, 29, of Blair, Wis., was taken to a hospital. Police said his most serious injury from the fall was a broken leg.
The man must have “an angel on his shoulder or something,” said Minneapolis police Lt. Dale Barsness. “He’s a lucky guy.”
According to a police report, Hanson and two friends returned from a night of drinking about 1:30 a.m Saturday. When the elevator reached the 17th floor, Hanson ran down a short hallway toward a floor-to-ceiling window, Barsness said.

Cambodian 'Jungle Girl' Struggles To Adapt
Phnom Penh - A Cambodian woman who went missing in the jungle for 18 years before being found last week is struggling to adapt to life as a human and wants to return to the forest, police said on Friday.
“She prefers to crawl rather than walk like a human,” said Mao Sun, a district police chief in the jungle-clad north-eastern province of Rattanakiri where the girl’s family live.
“Unfortunately, she keeps crying and wants to go back to the jungle,” he said. “She is not used to living with humans. We had to clothe her. When she is thirsty or hungry she points at her mouth,” he told Reuters by phone.
The girl, called Ro Cham H’pnhieng, went missing as an eight-year-old along with her cousin when they were sent to tend cows near the border with Vietnam.

A UFO At O'Hare? Some Pilots Thought So
CHICAGO - Federal officials say it was probably just some weird weather phenomenon, but a group of United Airlines employees swear they saw a mysterious, saucer-shaped craft hovering over O’Hare Airport last fall.
The workers, some of them pilots, said the object didn’t have lights and hovered over an airport terminal before shooting up through the clouds, according to a report in Monday’s Chicago Tribune.
