Created by Cagna Illumiations, the light cathedral made from 55,000 LEDs, for the 2012 Ghent Light Festival is one of the most beautiful light displays you’ll ever see. The gigantic colonnade was adorned with around 55,000 colorful LED bulbs that shine so bright you’d think they consume enough electricity to power a small town, but in reality, the entire installation consumes only 20 Kwatt/h.

An x-ray laser fired at a sample of aluminum has generated temperatures of 3.6 million degrees Fahrenheit - hotter than the sun’s corona. Scientists achieved the sizzling temperatures using a powerful x-ray laser at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. The advancement represents the first time researchers have been able to produce such plasmas in a controlled way.

Residents Complain Over Massive Rubbish Pile

Poor residents in Brierley Hill live next to a tip where the rubbish has grown higher than their four-storey homes. The tip in Brierley Hill, West Midlands, is run by Refuse Derived Fuel. It has been told to scale down the mess by the Environment Agency but has so far failed to meet the deadlines. Residents living nearby have reported rat sightings and claim the massive mountain of trash is a health hazard, as well as an eyesore.

The grave complex is located in the city of Sakai, near Osaka. Its total area – 46 hectares. The very grave – mound 33 meters high in the shape of a keyhole, surrounded by water on all sides.
