A 19-foot tall defecating giant at the Maremagnum Shopping Centre in Barcelona, Spain snagged the Guinness World Record for Largest Caganer. El Caganer is a pooping peasant figure in Catalan Christmas nativity scenes, often found squatting off to the side of the traditional scene.

Rare Whisky Sold For Over £46,000

A rare whisky bottle - a 55-year-old single malt - has set a new world record after it was sold for £46,000. The bottle of Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve sold for £46,850 at Bonhams in Edinburgh, topping the previous auction record of just under £30,000 for a bottle of single malt whisky.

Taiwan Trades Lottery Tickets for Dog Poop

This is perhaps one of the most innovative methods ever employed to keep a city clean. The authorities in New Taipei City, northern Taiwan, promised the citizens a free lottery ticket, in exchange for each bag of dog poop they collect from the street and hand over. The top prize of the lottery draw was gold worth T$ 60,000 (US $2000). The second and third prize were T$18,000 and T$12,000 respectively.

Since the death of his 94-year-old mistress last month, he has become a property magnate, or perhaps mognate, with flats and houses worth an estimated $10m scattered from Milan in the north to Calabria in the south.

World's Oldest Dog Pusuke Dies at 26

Pusuke, a male cross breed, died peacefully on Monday afternoon in Japan at the age of 26, which is approximately the equivalent of 180 human years. Pusuke was recognized last December as the World’s Oldest Dog by the Guinness Book of World Records.
