Athlete Impaled in the Groin
UTAH - A member of the Brigham Young University men’s volleyball team was impaled on a hurdle while he was practicing jumping a series of hurdles on Tuesday around 5 p.m.
The man’s foot hit a hurdle and knocked the center bar off its legs. The man then landed on the legs of the hurdle, impaling himself in the groin.
The 21-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery.
