World’s Oldest Television

It was made 73 years ago – and unlike modern gadgets it was built to last. A television that was around for King George VI’s 1937 Coronation and survived the Blitz has today been unveiled as Britain’s oldest working set. The black-and-white Marconiphone 702 dates back to 1936 and is still in its original condition.
