Truck With 7-Year-Old At The Wheel Hits Restaurant

DELBARTON, W.Va. A seven-year-old can do some damage—especially behind the wheel of a pickup truck.

But police in Delbarton, West Virginia, say fortunately, the damage was minor and no one was hurt when a pickup driven by a seven-year-old bumped into a restaurant.

The boy told police he was trying to hit the brakes as the truck rolled up to the restaurant and knocked an outdoor chair through the window.

The restaurant was closed at the time.

Police say the boy’s mother had parked the borrowed pickup across the road and went into the post office, leaving her son and a neighbor child in the truck.

Police haven’t determined whether she left the engine running.
