World's Fattest Man Getting Married

The world’s fattest man announced he is getting married, after losing nearly half his weight. Manuel Uribe, 43, holds the record for the world’s fattest man in the 2007 Guinness Book of Records.

The Mexican man said he had lost weight from 590 kg (1,300 lbs) to 260 kg (572 lbs) since February, reports the Daily News.

Manuel Uribe will marry a widow named Claudia, on October 26 in his hometown of Monterrey, northern Mexico.

“It will be a big wedding, on a large scale, but with a low-calorie banquet,” he said.

The Mexican reached his Guinness record weight in 2007 after years of a diet of pizza and tacos.
